With so many amazing spaces to enjoy alfresco meals just a short stroll away from our Kensington hotel, we’ve compiled a list of our favourite sunny spots that the whole family will enjoy. Read on to find your perfect place for a family picnic, tempting Indian afternoon tea or a quick lunch away from the hustle and bustle.

Hyde Park

Located just a short stroll away from our Kensington hotel, Hyde Park is an oasis of calm away from the busy streets and crowds of people visiting London every day.

Complete with the Princess Diana Memorial Garden with a pirate ship play area and wonderful water feature for a little paddle during hot days, the family will all enjoy a picnic in this lush and beautifully maintained green space.

If you’ve enjoyed a big breakfast at our Grand Park Restaurant and aren’t feeling too hungry, just grab an ice cream and take a stroll around the lake instead.

Kensington Gardens

The official royal residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kensington Gardens is located just next door to Hyde Park making it easy to reach from our Kensington hotel.

Home to some very special residents that have called this impressive park home for over 400 years, you can picnic with the pelicans this summer with a visit to St. James’s Park.

Set in a sea of colour thanks to the well-maintained flower beds, you can reach the park via Tube from our Kensington hotel in just twenty minutes. Simply take the Bakerloo line from Earl’s Court station.

Richmond Park

If you’re an early bird and have gotten up very early to enjoy a hearty breakfast at our Grand Park restaurant, you could head over to Richmond Park to try and catch a glimpse of the herds of deer that call the area home. Perfect for a packed lunch or picnic later in the day, Richmond Park is filled to the brim with flora and fauna, so it’s a wonderful spot when the sun does make an appearance.
