Some of the most romantic hotel packages can be found in London, and if there is one thing that goes hand in hand with romance and that is a two-for-one deal for the couple of you – or just deals in general, that make the prospect of a romantic weekend away more feasible and something that can happen more often, which is what it is all about. So, when you have already spent the first night of your romantic weekend couple’s trip at the Park Grand Restaurant (because honestly, that should be a given), then head to any of these spots for a great deal but without compromising on quality.

Big Easy

Big Easy are all about a good deal. The most impressive of the lot is the Boozy Brunch which takes place on the weekend. It is all you can drink of a prosecco blend, Big Easy red or white wine, ice cold Big Easy brew, or a frozen mojito slushie. For the food, you face the following options: a limitless BBQ (which includes chopped pork, pit-smoked chicken, St Louis pork ribs, coleslaw, pit-smoked beans with pork, chips and freshly baked cornbread; a Texan dry-rub steak; or their half-lobster (a favourite at Big Easy). All this for £30. Can you think of any better value for money, other than the Park Grand Kensington London hotel deals? Or perhaps those listed below?

Everybody loves a Happy Hour, especially Big Easy. It happens Sunday to Friday in the early evening, from 4pm – 7pm. All cocktails are £5 (except the slushie ones, which are £3) and a pint of Big Easy brew is only £3.50. We know how this sounds, but try not abandon this article now to bee-line for the closest branch.

If your issue is that you don’t really have enough time, rather than the day of the week: they have got your back. The Hit & Run express lunch is just £10 and includes a soft drink and all their specialities, with special mention needing to be made to the Lobster & Shrimp mac and cheese. If you are more partial to a sandwich at lunchtime, that doesn’t mean you can’t keep things indulgent: the Lobster & Shrimp roll will definitely hit the spot. It is served 12 noon – 4pm from Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays, when they do Boozy Brunches).

There are a number of these American BBQ style joints around London and frankly, they are perfect for big groups because there’s no splitting the bill or “she drank 7 more Proseccos than me”, and the deals are consistently big and easy.

Brewdog

There are Brewdog branches all around the city (and country, as a matter of fact). They are distillers of one of the UK’s favourite craft beer and cider, as well as a great pub to visit in general. On Wednesday’s, however, there really is nowhere else to be. Their “Wings Wednesday” is legendary. All you can eat wings for £12 – and they are absolutely delicious and they keep coming until you can’t take anymore! Make sure you book in advance, because it is particularly popular, especially in places like the Poland Street branch in Soho.

The Lyric

This quaint Victorian pub just off Piccadilly Circus and therefore a number of the West End theatres is pumping with weekday deals to make that Monday trip to see Everybody’s Talking About Jamie even more enticing. All day on Monday’s, the deal is two for one on all of the pizzas – the only issue is that every one of them and their mouth-wateringly crispy bases are as tempting as the other. Tuesdays are Steak Tuesdays, and the name speaks for itself: you get a 7oz steak, chips, and a beer/wine/soft drink for £14.45, all day. On Wednesday, if you don’t fancy Wings Wednesday at Brewdog, then Rib Wednesday is a worthy contestant for your hump day. It includes a rack of ribs, chips, coleslaw, beer/wine/soft drink for £12.95.

Address: 37 Great Windmill St, Soho, London W1D 7LT

Top tip:

Love a good deal? Of course you do, we all do, especially when it doesn’t come with a compromise on quality or flavour, only leaving you with more to spend at the XX hotel bar. Well, if you visit London often even, buy a Taste Card. In fact, if you visit the UK at large often, I is definitely worth it. It costs XX per month and then gets you an automatic 50% discount at over 6000 restaurants in London alone. Though it never counts for alcohol or certain bigger items on the menu, it usually gets you a pretty good price on most menu items. For instance, at Camden Town’s Jamon Jamon, which serves Spanish food, you can’t get the paella half price, but you can get all the small plates half price. We’d say confidently: worth it.

So, make sure your couple’s trip is perfectly paired with a couple of smashing deals – whether they are two-for-one deals, or just the kind of prices and flavours you can’t resist. Make sure you time your Indian Afternoon Tea (another compulsory element of a romantic weekend) with a day where you don’t have all-you-can-eat plans, or else you are going to find yourself rolling home when you realise you can’t resist the Park Grand’s clotted cream scones, and that you also can’t resist the pizzas at The Lyric.
