The Renaissance Nude

Artists of the renaissance era were fixated on portrayals of the human body, and this exhibition brings together some of the best examples of this work. Visitors are invited to dissect how and why this was, and the methods used to achieve the art we now associate with this period. The exhibition brings together key artists like Michelangelo, Titian, Durer and more, to examine a turning point in artistic history. The exhibit makes the perfect morning activity before returning to your Park Grand London Kensington Hotel for a leisurely Indian afternoon tea.
Cul-De-Sac by Phyllida Barlow RA

This ongoing exhibition by noted British sculptor Phyllida Barlow shows the artist’s work in everything from cardboard to plaster, helping to revolutionise the form. Her work has been commissioned by several of the city’s most notable artistic institutions, including the Tate Britain. This spring sees her debut brand new sculptures designed exclusively for the Royal Academy of Arts.
The exhibition is designed to represent a ‘cul-de-sac’ with one way in and out of the venue, providing visitors with the chance to roam freely between each piece. For artistically minded guests at the Park Grand London Kensington, this is a must-see.
Birds, Cars and Chairs by Humphrey Ocean RA

After enjoying a Breakfast at Park Grand London Kensington Hotel, be sure to head to the Royal Academy for a closer look at this impressive new exhibition, focusing on the work of noted artist Humphrey Ocean. There’s a little of everything here, from rare prints to paintings on paper, and the work itself focuses on living creatures and their interactions with the natural world. As an added bonus, the artwork on display is available for sale to those keen on attaining a piece of artistic history, so you could even pick up a unique memento of your trip.
Art of Sound: live jazz – Mark Kavuma Trio

This spectacular jazz festival offers a programme of live events which brings the genre to life in dazzling detail, ideal for music fans staying in the city. Musician Mark Kavuma started his career playing in British jazz bands, before forming his own quartet and branching out as a soloist. The events taking place are accompanied by snacks and a bar, to help you really make an evening of it!
Having first debuted last year, the popularity of the event has seen its triumphant return for one more year with a new title, The Genius of Music, Thelonious Monk.
