    Here are some of the best shopping experiences and how you can get there from the British Museum.

    The Burlington Arcade


    One of London’s classic covered arcades, this shopping location is the ideal place to splash the cash in the capital. Stroll through the pedestrian arcade and gaze at the many high-end shops that are on offer here.

    To get here from the British Museum, head to Great Russell Street Bus Stop R. Simply walk out of the hotel’s main entrance, turn right, then right again at the first street you come to. The stop is a two-minute walk along this road. Take the number 14 bus to Old Bond Street Royal Academy Stop G and you will see the arcade across the road. The entire journey should take around 16 minutes.



    For a day of shopping, you can’t go wrong with a Westfield centre. And, as it happens, there is one located very close to the British Museum. The store contains plenty of brands, from high street to high-end, so all shoppers will be catered to here. There are close to 300 different stores in the London Westfield so you really are spoilt for choice.

    Add to this the fact that there a plethora of wonderful places to eat and a top-quality cinema and you’ve got the makings of a cracking day out in London.

    Getting here from the British Museum is fairly straight forward. First, you need to get to Holborn Underground Station. Leave the museum and walk down Museum Street until you reach New Oxford Street. Turn left on New Oxford Street and proceed until you see the station on the right-hand side of the road.

    From the station, take the Central Line all the way to White City Station. This should take around 25 minutes. Leave the station and turn left on Wood Lane. Walk down this road (south) until you reach the Wood Lane Underground station. Turn left down the next road you come to (Ariel Way) and continue down this street until you reach the shopping centre.

    You cannot go shopping in London without visiting the retail wonderland that is Harrods. Whatever you are looking to buy, there’s a very good chance you will find it here.

    From the latest fashion trends, to beauty products to fine food and wine, there’s plenty on offer to burn a hole in your wallet here.

    Once you leave the museum, head across Russell Square towards Russell Square Underground station. From here, you need to take the Piccadilly Line to Knightsbridge Station. Once you are here, simply leave the station and walk south down Brompton Road.

    To get here from the British Museum, just follow the same steps you would take to reach Harrods until you reach Knightsbridge station. From here, head north up Brompton Road and you’ll see the iconic store on your right.

    This is another really great place to go shopping in London and it is the ideal distance from the British Museum. So once you’ve had enough of seeing the many fascinating exhibits that the museum has to offer, you can hop on the bus down to this shopping centre.

    Walk down Museum Road until you reach Bloomsbury Way and turn left here. Walk down this road until you reach Museum Street Bus Stop C. Now, take the 38 bus all the way to the Victoria Station. From here. turn left down Buckingham Palace Road and continue along here until you reach the shopping centre.
