London is filled with great things to do once spring arrives, as Londoners and visitors alike start to head for the great outdoors. Whether you’re in the mood for a visit to the local zoo, a springtime dip in an outdoor pool or want to enjoy a stunning Royal Park, these six key attractions should set you on the right tracks…

Royal Parks

The Royal Observatory

There are several incredible Royal Parks to visit during your stay with us at our Park Grand hotel in Kensington, as London prioritises great green spaces for the enjoyment of the public.

Hyde Park has some beautiful memorials including a WW2 commemorative garden and the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain, while Kensington Gardens provides a lavish children’s playground, acres of manicured gardens and close proximity to one of the city’s most impressive palaces. There’s incredible wildlife at St James’s Park where you can see staff feed the pelicans between 02:30-3:00PM every afternoon, or you could try hiring a deckchair in Green Park, the city’s smallest Royal Park, and watch the world go by.

Greenwich Park provides some of the best views in the city, while Richmond Park and Regent’s Park are both noted for their flora and fauna, which start to blossom in abundance at this time of year.

ZSL London Zoo

London Zoo

A trip to the zoo remains a popular activity in the spring, and a great day out for all the family before enjoying a high-end Indian afternoon tea at your hotel. The zoo is run by the London Zoological Society and home to an array of different species including everything from lions, to friendly penguins and curious lemurs. There are plentiful displays and daily shows which help bring the animal kingdom to life, and the zoo takes part in major conservation work, so a visit here is also a way of showing your support while you’re in London.

Local Lidos

Lidos london

London has several lidos and outdoor pools, which start to become more popular once spring arrives! We highly recommend the art deco-style Brockwell Lido, which has been serving customers since the 1930s, and the Oasis Sports Centre, which houses Central London’s only heated outdoor pool.

Rooftop Bars

The view of the city from above is always particularly impressive in the spring and summer, and seeing it all outside from a lavish rooftop bar is an experience not to be missed. This is also a great addition to your trip while making the most of one of our romantic hotel packages in London, and there’s plenty of great venues to choose from.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Whilst not all of this venue is outside, much of it is – including a variety of fun rides and activities and plentiful green space ideal for picnics and exploring in the great outdoors.

Boat Tours

Canal Boat london

What better way to see the sights than from the Thames? Whether you’re in the mood for a high-octane ride on a speedboat or prefer to keep a calmer pace, London has plenty of incredible tours which will not only help you see London on the water, but can also help you get from A-B in a fun new way this spring.
