Pride in London

The UK’s biggest and perhaps best Pride event, the city of London will be really coming to life this summer with a wide range of colourful, flamboyant and thought-provoking events with the aim of celebrating diversity.

With more than 60 events taking place and cumulating with the famous parade on Saturday 6th of July, we take a look at what’s going on at this year’s event and offer a little inspiration on what you can expect when staying at the Park Grand London Kensington.

First ever Pride 10k event

The newest event to join the Pride in London celebrations, the 10k event gives you the chance to don your running shoes (and maybe even a fun costume) and hit the London streets.

The ultimate pre-parade warm-up, head to Hyde Park on the 9th of June at 9:30 am to run side by side with the LGBT+ community in this fun event.

Reaching Hyde Park from the Park Grand London Kensington is easy and takes just a few minutes on foot, so make sure you fill up at breakfast at our restaurant in Kensington as you’ll need all the fuel you can get to complete the 10k course.

Pride’s Got Talent Cabaret Final

Even after the parade is over, the Pride’s Got Talent Cabaret Final shows that the party isn’t really over. Supporting and encouraging emerging new talent from the LGBT+ community, the annual cabaret final really is a toe-tapping and dancing in the aisles event with some fantastic talent on show.

Starting at the Apollo Theatre at 6:30 pm, gather your group together to enjoy an Indian afternoon tea at the Park Grand London Kensington or perhaps a cocktail or two at the bar before hopping on the Tube to make your way to the venue for a night out to remember.

The Pride Parade

The biggest and most well-attended event on the Pride in London calendar, this year’s parade celebrates fifty years since the birth of the modern LGBT+ rights movement and will see over a million people taking to the streets.

This year, the parade starts at noon from Portland Place – which takes less than half an hour to reach from the Park Grand London Kensington. That means you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast at our restaurant in Kensington before heading down to Portland Place to join in with this iconic celebration.

Gala Dinner

If you’ve got some cash to splash, the Gala Dinner is certainly something you won’t want to miss! With special celebrity guests, a champagne reception and three-course dinner plus live entertainment, you can dance the night away.

Tickets can be a little hard to get hold of, so if you’d rather be celebrating with a small group of friends, why not make a reservation for an Indian afternoon tea before heading off to one of London’s bustling venues for a night out on the town instead?

With many glittering after parties taking place all over the city, you’re sure to find the perfect place to party until dawn during the Pride in London event this year.
